A Lenten prayer
Dearest Lord Jesus, we live and move and work as part of a creation that longs for your redemption. In these March days, the sky holds the threat of snow while the earth warms with the promise of spring. Sunshine follows shadow, and our hearts look for Easter even as our feet tread the worn pathways of Lent. You go before us into suffering. Your Passion enfolds our grief and shame. Carry us through these cold days. Be with those who mourn, those who worry, those who endure pain, those who are lost. Help us to see your transforming love and grace at work in our trials, so that we may celebrate your resurrection in our earthly lives and with the saints in heaven. Come quickly, risen Christ! Amen.
